I’m sad that I missed the actual date of Moodlenews.com’s birthday (November, 12th) but I wanted to post a quick note celebrating it : )
It’s been a short 12 months since I registered Moodlenews.com (originally it was Moodlemonthly and my main intention was a monthly journal) with the goal of aggregating and sharing all the great things I was reading and learning about Moodle LMS. Since November 12th, 2009 I’ve changed jobs, moved, traveled (to California, Key West, Texas, Pittsburgh, Maryland/DC, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York and a few other places) and have done my best to stay true to Pokies my original intent for Moodlenews. Moodle News (originally Moodle Monthly) was created by Joseph Thibault last November. If you haven’t visited Moodlenews.com already, it is a must! There are multiple quality posts about Moodle every week day by Joseph and others. Take a look at the stats in the past year – proving it to be a great, new Moodle resource!
I have contributed a few posts and I am planning on doing more in the near future!
Cheers to Moodle News!
Just a quick note to stay updated with Moodle 2.0 news at Moodle Monthly. Moodle 2.0 Beta recently came out and is available at Moodle.org for download.

As I. Big thanks to him and Moodle Monthly!
This is the full account of a Moodle implementation in a large school district in the USA. The guide writes about the planning, development, roll-out, training and important tips and tricks of managing a successful learning management system integration.
The last few weeks I’ve been posting a series of blog posts called “How we implemented Moodle” on Moodle Monthly. I broke down the series into topics:
- Part 1 – Idea to Reality
- Part 2 – Installation and Modules
- Part 3 – Customization
- Part 4 – Rollout
- Part 5 – Training
- Wrap Up (teacher and admin tips)
It basically goes over our 2 year implementation of Moodle in the Osseo School District. If you’re already passed the implementation part there are still several recommendations of modules and plugins along with some of my favorite Moodle tips in the Wrap Up post.
Check it out and if you’re not interested in the Implementation Series check out Moodle Monthly – an awesome resource for Moodle stuff.
I haven’t done one of these for awhile so I’ll try and gather up all my saved links from the past weeks!
